Club 24 has always been a beacon of distinction among Utah’s Rotary clubs. In our storied past, while others measured their strength in tens or dozens, the Salt Lake Downtown Club stood tall, counting members by the hundreds—over 400 at our peak! What set us apart? Yes, service has always been our heartbeat, but it was paired with something equally powerful: influence. We were a gathering place for visionaries, leaders, and changemakers.
Today, with 140 dedicated members, we remain a vibrant community. Yet, as we’ve welcomed all with open arms, we’ve seen some of that unique spark—the presence of Utah’s movers and shakers—dim over time. But I believe this is not the end of our story; it’s the beginning of a bold new chapter.
International Committee Article in Observation of International Women's Day
Never before in history have women and supportive men from every nation united together to form an ALLIANCE for the purpose of creating and implementing solutions for the world’s greatest challenges - until now.
The WOMEN’S GLOBAL ALLIANCE is answering the call sent to the world from leaders at the United Nations
On September 19, 2023, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres warned the General Assembly when he said, “The international community ‘seems incapable of coming together’ to respond to a slew of growing global challenges.” He further warned that the world is inching “ever closer to a great fracture. It’s reform or rupture.”
Dennis Francis, President of the General Assembly said, “These crises are directly impacting the lives and well-being of billions of people around the world.”
This past month we welcomed two new members and said thank you and farewell to Larry Chatterton and Mike Vallez who are still deeply supportive of the work of the club but need to step away for a while to dedicate time to new job roles or other pressing commitments.
We wish them the very best in their new endeavors, thank them for their support and participation in the club and we hope to see them back in the coming years.
We are also excited to welcome two new members Cindy Fullmer and Joe Glover who will both be at next week's meeting. Please join us in welcoming them to the club and get to know them in the coming weeks
